PORTRAITS | WADDENSEA

What this is

The Wadden is a UNESCO cultural heritage site in the Netherlands which is divided by five small islands and a wide coast spread out over three provinces.

We were approached by Merk Fryslan to portrait fourteen different ambassadors, each working and living in a unique part of the area. The ambassadors include entrepreneurs, civil servants and artists and each have a story to tell about the place in which they work every day. This resulted in fourteen short and unique portraits about different individuals and the nature that surrounds them.

How we did this

In Collaboration with Merk Fryslan we wanted to showcase all the beauty the Wadden has to offer and showcase the different ambassadors. We selected fourteen people who lived and worked in a different part of the Wadden area. Each of the portraits we shot was filmed on another day, with different weather.

By adding sound design to each video we try to recreate to moment of being there with him or her. All together resulting in a palette of images displaying the wide variety of beauty the Wadden has to offer.
